New Extended Weekend Hours

Due to the amount of customers that have been coming during the late afternoon hours, we have decided to extend our hours on Friday and Saturday evenings! We will now be open from 8:00am-6:00pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-8:00pm FRIDAY & SATURDAY, and as always from 12:00 noon-5:00pm Sunday. Hopefully this will help for those of you that work until later in the evenings. Thanks for reading and we'll see you soon!!!

A Note from the Grooming Shop

Springtime is upon us and with it many of you are calling to make appointments for spring cleanups on your dogs and cats. We have 2 groomer technicians now fully trained to assist with bathing and grooming prep work - Jesse Anderson and Brett Martin. Both have completed bather/brusher training, and Canine CPR and basic first aid training.

In addition we would like to welcome Jodie Frederick to the team as our second groomer. She had previously groomed at Alpine Animal Hospital.

The grooming shop is blossoming and with the additional staff, we are still able to get most of you in during the week you call.

A special note to all of my current clients - I really appreciate the referrals - thank you so much! It really means a lot to have someone tell me that they heard from 2 or 3 of their friends that they should come here for their pets grooming needs. The staff of Palouse Pets and I will continue to work to earn the trust you place here.

DOG OBEDIENCE

Our Clicker Dog Obedience course is currently in its second class. The third class will be starting on Monday May 21st, and only six positions are available in both the Adult and Puppy Kindergarden classes so register ASAP! However, these classes will be running year round, so if you miss this session you can always get into the next class. We will also be starting an advanced clicker class soon for those that have completed the initial clicker obedience class and wish to continue training with their pups. New Shipment of Saltwater Fish

The shipment of saltwater fish, corals, and inverts we received this week has been fully acclimated and all are doing very well. Highlights of the shipment are a nice size coral beauty with great color. Also a healthy and nice sized blue (Hippo) tang that is eating well and gaining weight. Others include a rainford's goby, copperbanded butterfly, goldstripe maroon clownfish, some oscellaris and true percula, a variety of pseudochromis, mandarin and target dragonet, scooter blennies, a delightful and large decorator crab.
The inverts include blue leg hermits, some nice large margarita and nassirius snails, a briarium encrusting green star polyp cluster, greek goddess sea slugs, skunk cleaner shrimp, emerald crabs, blue spot sea hares, and more.
This was a really nice shipment - everything is nice sized and healthy.

Lots has happened this past week. We have brought in pond supplies in preparation for spring. There was a really nice shipment of saltwater that arrived Wednesday. The first few items for the webstore were officially launched - we have Pure Ayre enzymatic cleaners and Freshwave air fresheners and natural odor absorbents now available for purchase at the shop or online.
We have also started photographing our grooming clients and posting their photos. Follow the links from the Grooming tab.
Jodie Frederick has joined the grooming team at Palouse Pets. She comes with extensive local experience. She has a great raport with the pets, excellent grooming skills, and is a wonderful addition to the grooming team.
